What these tags give away
A single photo can hold the precise coordinates of where it was taken, the make, model and even the serial number of your device, the timestamp down to the second, and the software you edited it with. None of this is visible in the picture, but anyone you send the file to can read it in seconds with a free tool. This checker shows you the same thing first, grouped by how much it gives away.
An empty result still means something
If nothing shows up, the tags were already stripped or never written. That is normal for a screenshot, or a photo saved from most social networks and messaging apps, which strip metadata on upload. A blank read is not proof a file is safe, only that its tags are gone. What the picture itself shows, a street sign or a recognisable view, is a separate question this tool does not judge.
Your photo stays on your device
