Automatically find and blur the faces in a photo
Drop in a photo and it automatically finds the faces and blurs them for you. It can miss some, a profile, a face in shadow, or faces in a crowd, so you can also draw a box over anything by hand, or delete a box it got wrong. The blur is burned into the picture you save, not a sticker sitting on top that can be peeled off.

PNG keeps every pixel exact; JPEG is smaller. The blur is flattened into the image either way.
Blur it, do not just cover it
A black box or an emoji dropped over a face in a normal editor is often a separate layer, and if the file keeps that layer, or the box is semi-transparent, the face underneath can come back. This tool redraws the actual pixels of each face as a blur or a mosaic and then flattens everything into one image, so what you save is the only thing there is. There is no hidden original to recover.
Blur or pixelate, and how hard
Blur smears the face into a soft smudge; pixelate replaces it with coarse blocks. Both hide a face when turned up enough, which is why the strength starts high. Very light blurring or coarse pixelation can sometimes be partly undone by software that models the distortion, so if a face really must not be identifiable, use a strong setting and check it reads as unrecognisable.
The detector is a helper, not the whole job
Detection runs automatically when you drop a photo and finds most clear, front-on faces, but it skips profiles, partly hidden faces, small faces in the background and often struggles with crowds, where faces overlap or are tiny. It also does not know about the other things that identify a person, a tattoo, a name badge, a reflection, a house number. Look over the whole photo and box anything by hand that should not be shared, not just what the detector found.
